Project Brief: Creating a New Bathroom and Renovating Existing Bathroom and Kitchen

In April 2017 we were tasked with renovating the existing main bathroom. A year later in April 2018, we restored the dated kitchen as well as creating an additional bathroom downstairs.

Renovating the main bathroom included the installation of bigger UPVC windows as well as installing a new ceiling with moisture resistant and insulation. The remaining work involved rearranging plumbing for the new suite, electrics, new shower and concealing of pipes, plaster walls and ceilings, tiling walls to ceiling, as well as tiling the floor. Followed by installing an extractor fan, bath, shower tray, shower mixer, basin, toilet and towel rail. In addition to all required mirrors, bath screen, shower screen, towel holders and accessories. Followed by finishing with painting and decorating the bathroom, doors, and architraves.

Before creating the additional bathroom downstairs, we worked with our client and an independent surveyor to ensure the project was feasible as well as receiving advice and guidance from the local planning team. Once all the paperwork was completed, the work involved installation of new and partition walls with insulation, bricking up the garden door halfway for the new window, restructuring of new window frames and new doorways as well as installing new doors including a garden door. Once the structure was complete, we moved on to carry out the plumbing and electrical works, for example, installing new waste pips for the toilets and basin and the remaining included all the cosmetic of installing the bathroom suites and its accessories.

For the Kitchen, we worked closely with designers to design an ideal kitchen for our client. Once the design was approved, then it was a matter of carrying out the necessary work such as plumbing, electrics, re-plastering in preparation for installing the kitchen units, and all the appliances. In addition to installing the kitchen, we also opened up a new doorway for accessing the garden including new concrete lintel for the doorway and removed the existing kitchen entry door and raised the frame to the ceiling.
