Project Brief: Complete Renovation of a One Bedroom Flat in Conservation Area.

Due to being in a conservation area, there were stringent regulations to follow, therefore; we worked closely with the building control officer from the local authority to ensure all the protocols were adhered.

For this project, we carried out Kitchen, Living room, Bedroom, and Bathroom renovation as well installing new window frame and glass, in addition to using fire-resistant paint for the necessary areas.

We gutted the place inside out and carried out complete rearranging of plumbing, re-wiring of the whole flat, re-plastering all white walls surfaces including new beading on all wall corners, installing of drywall tape on all cracks to prevent future cracks. Furthermore, installing durabase matting to floor areas, warmup 6mm insulation boards to floor areas, new LED strip lights to various doors.

Our client wanted to raise the kitchen floor for which we constructed a new section of stud wall to extend kitchen area and built the level along with all the plumbing, electrical sockets, wood effect tiling on the raised platform, and connecting all the appliances.

For the bathroom, in addition to rearranging plumbing electrics, and replastering, walls, and ceiling, we construct new stud frame and plywood bath panel with cut out for the access panel, installed Bath cradle and bath with construct half height boxing to house the concealed cistern. Furthermore, we constructed a new wall with obscured glass panel as well as applying a tanking system to walls within the shower enclosure. Other installation in the bathroom included, wall hung pan, wall-mounted sink and deck mounted basin mixers, heated towel rail to wall, overflow filler waste to bath, wall mounted shower sore, shower screen, LED spotlights, new extractor fan.

This project took longer than expected to conform, meet approval and work with the building control officer schedule.
